Quaker papers : from Philadelphia and New Jersey, 1697- 1788.

The collection contains retained copies of Pemberton's letters with other Quakers, 1748-1788, concerning Friends' business; two manuscript documents: a collection of minutes in 1753 concerning rules for marrying relatives, and the extracts from the 1744 yearly meeting minutes for Philadelphia and New Jersey; a printed yearly meeting epistle, 1776; and a printed broadside, 24 January 1775, against the revolution. Also, includes a printed 1697 epistle from London, on the reverse is a marriage record of two Philadelphia slaves, Cairo and Phebe, belonging to Capt. Thomas Lake and Anthony Morris, on 11 November 1763.
